* Ranking in 2019; the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy commissions this study into the transparency of CSR reporting among the approximately 500 largest companies every two years.
** QualityScore uses a numeric, decile-based score that indicates a company’s governance risk relative to their index or region. A score in the 1st decile (QS:1) indicates relatively higher quality governance practices and relatively lower governance risk, and, conversely, a score in the 10th decile (QS:10) indicates relatively higher governance risk. Companies receive an overall QualityScore and a score for each of four pillars: Board Structure, Compensation/ Remuneration, Shareholder Rights, and Audit & Risk Oversight.
The Dutch Fair Bank Guide (Eerlijke Bankwijzer) is an initiative on the part of six NGOs to benchmark the ESG policies of the largest banks in the Netherlands. We support the intention of the Dutch Fair Bank Guide, but we question the chosen method. For that reason from 2019 onward we decided - in line with other Dutch Banks and the Dutch Banking Association (NVB) - to stop participating. Since the beginning of 2022, Van Lanschot Kempen has decided to re-engage in dialogue with the Fair Bank Guide. Van Lanschot Kempen would like to be completely transparent about its own sustainability ambitions and policies and therefore opts for dialogue with external parties. In the future, we are therefore participating in the surveys of the Fair Bank Guide. We hope to include the Fair Bank Guide in the sustainability mission that we share with our clients.
